Pay to Play Online Bingo Coming to Facebook

Attention all Facebook fans!  In a recent white paper released by Bullet Business it was announced that Facebook’s gaming manager, Bruce Bale, EMEA gaming manager, and Will Collins who is the strategic partnerships manager will present at the Online Bingo Summit, which is to take place this spring, in London.

Now in its eighth year, the 2013 Online Bingo Summit will take play on May 1st 2013 and there is some exciting news for all those Facebook fans out there.  Facebook has in the region of one billion members, and what is planned for the future could prove to be a game changer for the gambling industry.

This year’s summit’s sponsors are Experian and PaySafeCard, and it is going to be focused on the mobile and social future of our well loved game of bingo.  Facebook’s choice to host real money bingo from 888 and Jackpotjoy has obviously raised a lot of questions about how real money gambling on Facebook is going to develop.

Facebook has been described as being like that of a giant affiliate, although it is still not clear what exact role it will play.  888 have recognised the incredible potential for social gaming as their play for fun games have proved very popular and enjoy a massive audience.  The very fact that the opportunity that real money gaming on Facebook will be available soon is a very exciting prospect.

Julien Codorniou, head of games partnerships for Facebook in Europe, said:

“Facebook is a wonderful platform for playing games with your friends,”

It appears that Facebook is very happy to be working with 888 as they enjoy a strong reputation in the gaming industry for both the safety and the quality of their games, and it is all about reputation earned in this game.

It makes sense that a convergence of social bingo and online gaming will happen, although in which form has yet to be agreed.  One of the problems the majority of players have with playing their games on Facebook is that they cannot withdraw any money won.  Now that some operators have turned to the usual online bingo business model, this may actually prove to be the way to go ahead.

So we shall just have to bit the bullet and wait until the summit is over and done with, perhaps then we shall know how things are to progress.  Times, they say, are a changing!
